Horizon Forbidden West is an upcoming action role-playing game established by Guerrilla Gamings and also released by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is readied to be released on 18 February 2022 for the PlayStation 4 as well as PlayStation 5. A follow up to Horizon No Dawn (2017 ), it features an open world in a post-apocalyptic western United States.

Sony gave a promise and emphasized that in the future you can upgrade all cross-gene launch tracks free of charge from the PlayStation 4 to the PlayStation 5. This promise was suddenly not at Horizon Forbidden West for the standard and special edition. Luckily but only for a short time, because the displeasure of the fans has shown effect in the executive days!

Now Sony Rears and offers a free upgrade from the PS4 to the PS5 for Horizon Forbidden West. Other games of Sony, such as God of War or Gran Turismo 7, can only be updated for a fee for a fee of 10, – Euro from the PS4 to the PS5. Why this is not possible for free, was not said.

Jim Ryan, President & CEO, Sony Interactive Entertainment focused on the fans with the following words: Thursday should be a feast for Horizon Forbidden West and the great team of Guerrilla, which works to publish it on 18 February 2022 . However, it is more than clear that the offers we have confirmed in our pre-order kickoff have missed the goal.

Last year we committed ourselves to deliver free upgrades for our cross-gene launch titles, including Horizon Forbidden West. Although the deep effects of the pandemic have led to Forbidden West no longer appear in the originally planned time window, we stay on our offer: Players who buy Horizon Forbidden West for PlayStation 4 can be upgraded for free on the PlayStation 5-Version.

In addition, I would like to confirm today that in the future for PlayStation-exclusive cross-gene titles (which appear new for PS4 and PS5) – both digital and physical – a digital upgrade option worth 10 USD from PS4 to PS5 Offered. This applies to the nearest God of War and Gran Turismo 7 as well as all other exclusive cross-gene tracks for PS4 and PS5 published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
